Panther Beach Clean Up

One of my favorite places to shoot seascape on the coast of Northern California is the Panther Beach in Davenport, where the image above was taken, and we’re going to keep that beach clean.

I was introduced to that hidden beach by Santa Cruz photographer Jim Patterson, who’s been shooting there on a regular basis in the past few weeks. Unfortunately, due to its hidden nature and invisibility from any public roads that beach is also frequented by local high school kids who like to have bonfires and parties there and oftentimes leave much trash behind.

We appreciate the beauty of the Pacific Coast and we want to keep it that way. We decided to get together one night, spend an hour or so picking up the trash at the beach and then spend the remainder of the evening shooting together into the sunset. Below are the details.

From an email sent out by Jim -

“The plan is to clean up from 4-6pm and then shoot photos until sunset, and maybe after grab a drink in Santa Cruz. I will bring gloves, bags, and a big trash can or two, but if you have any of these items, definitely bring them. Hand sanitizer for afterward is probably not a bad idea either.”

Beach Clean Up – Panther Beach
May 24 (Sunday), 4pm

We will meet at the parking lot, located next to the railroad tracks and then hike down to the beach. If you’re running behind, just come down and find us at the beach.
