Report on Photowalk with Jim Goldstein
by admin
As I mentioned in my previous post, I actually participated in two Worldwide Photowalks last week, and here is a brief report on the second one.
The second one took place in downtown San Francisco and was led by Jim Goldstein. I followed Jim’s work ever since I first got into more serious photography several years ago, as he is one of the more active photographers when it comes to online presence, plus he’s also a Bay area local. Jim is known for his landscape work and for his EXIF and Beyond podcast, which I’ve been listening to for a while now. Although Jim and I communicated online before, I never met him in real life, so I signed up for his photowalk as soon as he announced it.
It was nice to meet Jim in real life and and talk shop as we walked around the streets of financial district and North Beach. Besides carrying his Canon around, Jim was also taking a lot of photos with his iPhone. Compared to Tom Hogarty’s photowalk, we moved at a lot quicker pace. I think I took more photos during that walk, but as the light was good, I didn’t focus as much on meeting other photographers as I did on the previous walk, and I’m fine with that. There is hardly ever a balance between taking good amount of photos while socializing in a group setting like this.
I posted one of the favorite pictures from that night in my previous blog post and below is another favorite of mine, and what perhaps my most favorite image from that whole day of shooting.
